Biography

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist working in a full time NHS post in Urgent Care Psychiatry.

I am the Consultant Psychiatrist ESH Community and Bayberry and I have my own private practice in Coventry and Warwickshire.

I qualified as a doctor with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1993 from The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London. I worked for 9 years gaining a wide medical experience in various specialties including Anaesthetics, Paediatrics and A&E before specialising in Psychiatry.

I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2005 and I received my Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2008. I am dual qualified- and I am listed on the GMC Register of Specialists for General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.

I have further specialized in the treatment of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) with Addiction and Psychiatric problems. For many years I have offered support and guidance to the Sick Doctors Trust (SDT) and the British Doctors and Dentists Group (BDDG). I have a long experience of treating doctors whose registration is restricted by the GMC. I am currently a psychiatrist working with Practitioner Health.

I achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Open University in 2011. 

I am a member of The Society for the Study of Addiction (SSA), The Medical Council on Alcohol (MCA) and the Spirituality and Psychiatry Special Interest Group of The Royal College of Psychiatrists.

I am a Member of the Royal Colleges of Psychiatrists (RCPsych)

I am a Member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA)

I have full Medical Indemnity Insurance with the MDDUS.

I have successfully completed yearly appraisal and revalidation as required by the GMC.

I take an active role in training and teaching Medical Students and Junior Doctors.
