I grew up in Berkshire and studied Medicine in London.
I am a Consultant Psychiatrist working in a full time NHS post in Urgent Care Psychiatry.
I am the Consultant Psychiatrist for The Charterhouse Clinic, ESH Community and Bayberry and I have my own private practice in Coventry/Warwickshire and The Midlands.
I qualified as a doctor with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1993 from The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London. I worked for 9 years in various hospital posts before specialising in Psychiatry.
I grew up in Nykøbing Mors in North Jutland. A small fishing town on the coast in the North of Denmark.
I studied Pure Maths at The University of Copenhagen; and then completed a Master’s in Economics and Business Administration/Finance and Investments at The Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
I then spent 3 years working in the Banking/Finance sector in Zurich and Frankfurt…often spending 16 hours per day in the office!
I took 3-months off work- mostly reading (spirituality books and novels), training (tennis and yoga), spending time with family/friends and reflecting. I realised there must be more to life than chasing money and working within that unhealthy culture.
An emergence of a new spiritual consciousness has brought me to England to study Integrative Psychotherapy and Philosophy. Post-covid I plan to spend the summer at various music festivals.
My interest in Eastern spirituality and psychology has initiated a daily meditation practice; in particular the study of Tibetan Mahamudra and Dzogchen.
I am a qualified and accredited addictions therapist and I hold a post graduate certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. I have over 7 years’ experience of working alongside adults with substance use disorders and behavioural addictions and mental disorders. I offer a safe and confidential space in which to work through your issues, whilst offering a supportive relationship alongside you to meet your goals of therapy. I am able to integrate various therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Relapse prevention, to ensure that your treatment is tailored to your specific needs.
My psychotherapy training allows me to work with a wider range of issues, ranging from trauma, developmental issues, attachment issues and
existential struggles.
My therapy style is flexible, with an emphasis on the relational elements which are evidenced to improve therapeutic outcomes. I tend to focus not only on the causation of the presenting problems but
work towards finding appropriate solutions to both short- and long-term issues.
I currently offer face to face therapy in Leamington Spa and also offer online counselling, via Skype and Zoom.
